Moonstruck relocated to Delano Street in early 2025 and runs two screens Thursday through Sunday. It's one of the more urban drive-in setups in Texas, within the city limits and about 10 minutes east of downtown. The newer location has improved sightlines and more parking.

The Showboat on FM 2920 in Hockley has two screens and operates year-round. It's a more traditional rural drive-in, about a 45-minute drive from downtown Houston depending on traffic. Showboat tends to draw families from the northwest suburbs and the Cypress area.

Both theaters use FM radio for sound and show first-run double features. Houston's climate makes drive-in moviegoing possible year-round, though summer evenings are hot and humid. Mosquito spray is essential from May through September. Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons for sitting outside your car. Winter nights are mild enough that a hoodie is usually all you need.

Houston traffic can add significant time to your drive, especially on Friday evenings heading toward Hockley. Plan accordingly and leave early if you're headed to Showboat after work. For Moonstruck, the East End location is much more accessible from central Houston and the inner loop neighborhoods.
